   Use some baby powder to absorb the oil before you give the dog a bath. Work it in very well (the more the better), then wait for about twenty to thirty minutes. In the mean time get all your things ready to go for the bathing process.

   Put your dog in the bath tub before turning on the water, then get the mineral oil and put one drop in each of the dog's eyes (this will help prevent from burning the dog's eyes in case you should get soap in them). If this does occur all you have to do is rinse it out as fast as possible.

   Lather your dog up before getting him or her wet. The reason for this is because it will help get the oil out of the dogs fur.

   Turn the water on to lukewarm and rinse him or her off. If the stain doesn't come out the first time then you might have to repeat the process again depending on how bad the stain is in the fur.

   Make sure you rinse very well and get all the soap out because if you don't it will cause great discomfort to the dog's skin.

   Now get your conditioner and put it on and work it in very well (this will put moisture back in the dog's coat).

   Towel dry very well. Check the dog's ears to make sure that there is no soap or water in the ear canal (if you do keep water in the dogs ears then it will cause ear infections in the future). If there is any water in the ears just gently wipe them out with the towel.

   When the dog is dry, brush and comb out to get any of the mattes that are left behind. If they are left in the fur they will be harder to get out the next time your dog gets a bath and they can also cause sores on the skin.

• a small bottle of mineral oil
• two or three towels
• a rubber bath mat so your dog doesn't slip
• a spray nozzle with a hose
• a screen for your drain for the dog hair, a good conditioner.
