If the fan switch only runs on "high" it is not the control switch, it is the resistor. First step in the manuals will tell you to pull the control switch and check for continuity. . . because the resistor is bad the reading will show "no continuity" except on "high", but there is nothing wrong with the switch. Resistor change takes 20-30 minutes, one tool and should be less than $20.00.
Steps
- 1Contact the Parts Department at your local Dodge Dealer to make sure they have the part. If not, order it. The resistor is a dealer part only.
- 2Buy the resistor
- 3Under the passenger side dash, above where your feet would be, remove the air duct section (approx. 2 ft long). You may need a screw driver to pry one end out.
- 4Resistor is the only White part under the dash.
- 5Unplug wire harness from the resistor
- 6With small socket and driver, remove two side nuts attaching resistor to the housing.
- 7Remove resistor.
- 8Replace resistor with new and attach nuts to housing
- 9Plug in harness
- 10Replace air duct
- 11Project completed.
Tips
- Check socket size, it is small
- Have small hands, it is in a tight area
- This is a do it yourself project that will save you alot of money.

Things You'll Need
