Steps
- 1Obtain equipment:
- Powerful electric drill (hammer drill not needed)
- 2 1/8 inch Bi-metal Hole Saw (most models)
- Proper hole saw adapter
- Cutting oil
- Allen wrench (not shown)
- Vise grip pliers (not shown)
- Hand file (not shown)
- Rags (not shown)
- 2Remove pilot bit from hole saw adapter with proper sized Allen wrench.
- 3Install hole saw on adapter.
- 4Install hole saw and adapter on drill.
- 5Being liberal, use plenty of cutting oil, lube all cutting surfaces and areas to come in contact with saw.
- 6Line up hole saw with end of exhaust pipe.
- 7Drilling Step
- Use moderate pressure, letting saw work slowly through metal (do not use hammer option)
- Use plenty of oil, especially when smoking is visible
- Oil, oil, oil
- Be prepared for bit to pass wall of resonator
- 8Using pliers, remove resonator. You many need to wiggle and rotate the pliers.
- 9Once removed, dispose of resonator properly.
- 10Wipe down excess oil and file any rough surfaces if desired.
- 11Repeat on other tail pipe.
