If you get error messages on a BMW, it may disappear after you check the control messages. But who has time to read a manual? Here's how to do it in one of these two ways.
Steps
- 1Be sure to place the Comfort Access remote control in the ignition. DO NOT press Start/Stop.
- 2Cluster METHOD: Press the Trip Reset button in the instrument cluster multiple times over a ten second period.
- 3iDrive method: Press the iDrive controller down to select Agree.
- 4Press down on the iDrive controller once again.
- 5Scroll clockwise to Service.
- 6Scroll clockwise to Check Control.
- 7Remove the key from the ignition. Remember to push in before removing it. If you don't do so, you may break the remote controller and have to have it repaired.
Tips
Warnings
- If you hold in the Start-Stop button, you may erase the key codes.
- If you pull out directly on the remote controller, you may need a replacement one.
